## About the Role

We’re looking for a **Senior Backend Developer** to join our engineering team and take ownership of building scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems.

You’ll work closely with Product, Design, and Frontend Engineering teams to turn product requirements into robust technical solutions. The role involves designing APIs, building backend services, working with databases, improving system performance, and contributing to technical architecture and engineering best practices.

**Location:** Bangalore / Hybrid

## What You’ll Do

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
- Build reliable and secure RESTful APIs and backend systems.
- Work with databases, data models, caching systems, and third-party integrations.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product designers, and product managers to deliver end-to-end features.
- Make architectural and technical decisions for new and existing services.
- Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability issues.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, and documented code.
- Review code and provide constructive feedback to other engineers.
- Improve development processes, testing practices, monitoring, and deployment workflows.
- Participate in technical discussions, architecture reviews, and engineering planning.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and help establish engineering best practices.

## Requirements

- 4–7 years of professional backend development experience.
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language such as **Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or Kotlin**.
- Strong understanding of **REST APIs, microservices, authentication, authorization, and distributed systems**.
- Experience working with relational databases such as **PostgreSQL or MySQL**.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as **MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Redis**.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as **AWS, GCP, or Azure**.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with Git and modern CI/CD workflows.
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized applications.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently own technical problems from investigation through implementation and deployment.

## Nice to Have

- Experience designing systems that operate at high scale.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Familiarity with observability tools, logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
- Experience building AI/ML-powered products or integrating LLM APIs.
- Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities.
