Asset Manager — Solar Projects
About the Role
SafEarth Renewables Pvt Ltd manages a growing portfolio of operating solar assets. We are hiring an Asset Manager, based in Bengaluru, to own the end-to-end performance of an assigned cluster of plants.
You will act as the owner's representative to O&M contractors, DISCOMs and offtakers — driving generation performance, closing the monthly commercial cycle, governing maintenance execution and keeping statutory compliance current. The role calls for strong analytical judgement, disciplined documentation, and the ability to hold a contractor to its contractual commitments without escalating every issue upward.
Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka (periodic travel to sites) · Department: Operations — Asset Management · Experience: 1–3 years in the solar industry · Openings: 1
Responsibilities
Performance and analytics
Review SCADA data, inverter logs and daily generation reports; investigate deviations against PVsyst P50/P90 estimates and contractual generation guarantees.
Track Performance Ratio, CUF, plant and grid availability, soiling loss and string-level underperformance.
Diagnose loss sources — inverter clipping, module mismatch, downtime attribution, grid curtailment — and drive corrective action to closure with the O&M contractor.
Prepare monthly MIS, performance dashboards, generation analysis, and owner- or lender-facing reports and presentations.
Commercial and billing
Complete the monthly JMR reconciliation with the DISCOM or offtaker, raise invoices and follow up on payment realisation.
Validate O&M contractor invoices against SLA performance, including liquidated-damage and availability-shortfall triggers.
Maintenance and vendor governance
Approve and audit preventive maintenance schedules; verify that execution is complete and to standard.
Drive corrective maintenance to closure; escalate chronic or repeat failures to warranty and RMA claims with the OEM.
Maintain spares inventory levels, consumption tracking and reorder triggers for critical spares.
Hold monthly performance reviews with O&M contractors against an SLA scorecard.
Compliance, audits and handover
Review periodic site audits covering earthing systems (IS 3043), HT switchgear condition, safety systems, and module and structure condition.
Manage EPC-to-O&M handover: punch-list closure, warranty documentation, and verification of as-built drawings and O&M manuals.
Ensure adherence to safety standards and operational compliance requirements across the assigned portfolio.
Requirements
B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or Renewable Energy Engineering.
1–3 years in solar plant O&M or asset management. Experience with a solar EPC or an O&M service provider is relevant.
Working knowledge of IS/IEC standards applicable to solar PV, and of the CEIG and DISCOM approval process.
Based in Bengaluru, and willing to travel periodically to project sites.
Nice to Have
Exposure to both utility-scale and C&I rooftop solar plants.
Experience on Owner's Engineer or third-party asset management mandates.
Certification in solar energy or O&M management.
